Blood Donation Camp during Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav(AKAM) Week
India is completing 75 Years of her independence on 15th August 2022. To celebrate this momentous occasion, Government of India is celebrating ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM)’ beginning 75 weeks prior to the completion of 75 years of Indian independence.
2. Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy is organising many events as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Special Week (19-25 January 2022).
3. On 21st January, 2022 Assistant High Commission of India in association with Rotaract Club of Kandy organized a Blood Donation Camp at the auditorium of E. L. Senanayake Children’s Library.
4. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of Central Province Mr. Gamini Rajarathna with presence of Mrs. Dileepa Piyadasa, Deputy Municpal Commissioner, Mr. Vipula Ranasinghe, Member of Municipal Council, Mr. B. H. M. Jayawickrama, Secretary of Ministry of Health and Dr. Aruna Jayasekara, Director National Hospital, Kandy.
5. AHCIK staff members and members of Rotaract Club of Kandy helped and gave support to the people who were donated blood. Donors were provided with refreshments and awarded participation certificate. The participation of the doctors and staff members of National Hospital Kandy was commendable. The blood donation camp witnessed very good response from the people.
