The Indian Corner is a partnership between the Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy and the Kandy Municipal Council, Central Province.
The D.S. Senanayake Public library was established on October 1, 1920. In a day 1500 readers visit the library including the IndianCorner for reading, lending and reference purposes.
The Indian Corner was established at theD.S. Senanayake Public library on August06, 1998 as an information Office on India for the people of Kandy. This is the only Indian Corner in the Central Province of Sri Lanka functioning as a resource centre to the general public specifically to the youth of the area.
The basic function of the “Indian Corner” is to provide access to thereaders and to the public current and reliable information about India via books, fiction and non-fiction, Indian magazines and periodicals in English, Hindi and Tamil languages.
