AHCI Kandy hosts Indian Film Festival across seven districts

Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy organized a series of film screenings across seven districts under its jurisdiction as part of the vibrant Indian Film Festival. The initiative aimed to celebrate Indian cinema’s cultural richness while strengthening people-to-people ties between India and Sri Lanka.

  1. The film screenings began from Badulla and continued through Matale, Kurunegala, Nuwara Eliya, Kandy, Ratnapura, and concluded in Kegalle. Each event attracted enthusiastic audiences from all walks of life. The movie lovers experienced Indian Blockbuster movies in different genres i.e. Comedy, Action, Drama, Adventure etc.
  1. A key highlight of the festival was the screening held at the North Western Provincial Council, Kurunegala and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Council, Ratnapura. These screenings were graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Governor, North Western Province, H.E. Mr. Tikka Kumarasiri Warnasuriya and Hon’ble Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province, H.E. Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajarathna respectively. Esteemed dignitaries who graced the occasion, appreciated the initiative’s cultural significance.
