World Hindi Day -2025 Celebration

Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy celebrated World Hindi Day on 17 February 2025 at Golden Crown Hotel, Kandy. The celebration began with welcome speech by Assistant High Commissioner of India in Kandy, Saranya V.S. followed by speech of the Chief Guest Prof. Sangeeth Rathnayake, Head of the Department, Hindi Language, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.

2. The event included cultural performances and exchange of ideas to promote Hindi language in Sri Lanka. More than 100 Hindi professionals, enthusiasts, teachers, and students participated in the event.

3. During the week prior to the event, Hindi competitions were organised for students, in which more than 100 participants from various institutes, pirivenas and schools took part. Competitions were also organised for local staff of AHCI Kandy. Winners of various Hindi competitions were awarded certificates of appreciation, gifts as well as cash prizes.

4. Top winners of the 5th Bharat ko Janiye Quiz, Hindi teachers & Cultural performers were also felicitated on the occasion. The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants.
