Health and Hygiene Medical Camp for Plantation and Rural Women in Badulla District as part ofInternational Women’s Day

​In a significant initiative to promote the health and well-being of plantation and rural women in GlenAlphin estate of Badulla District, Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy in collaboration with District Secretariat, Badulla organised a Health and Hygiene Medical Camp as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations. Assistant High Commissioner, Ms. Saranya V S, District Secretary of Badulla, Mr. Panduka Sri Prabhath Abeywardhana, and Regional Director of the Plantation Human Development Trust, Mr. A S B Ekanayake graced the event. 

2.​This impactful event was supported by key stakeholders, including the MOH Office Badulla, Badulla Pradeshiya Sabha, Plantation Human Development Trust, Glenalphin Estate Management, Unilever, and Serendib Flour Mills.

3.​The medical camp with a focus on early detection and prevention of critical health issues provided essential healthcare services i.e. Dental Check-ups, Eye Check-ups, Breast Cancer Pre-identification Tests, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Screening and Awareness.

4.​The event saw active participation of more than 200 women from surrounding estates and rural areas, benefiting from free health screenings and awareness sessions.
