Celebration of 76th Independence Day of India

The 76th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Kandy on 15 August, 2022 at the Official Residence of Assistant High Commissioner. AHC Dr. Athira S. hoisted the tricolor, which was followed by singing of National Anthem. The Address by the Hon'ble President of India on the eve of Independence Day was read out by AHC on the occasion.

  1. Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) is the Govt. of India initiative to commemorate 75 years of Independence. As a part of the AKAM & ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Indian flags were distributed among the guests.
  2. India based officers, family members, AHCI officials and friends of India took part in the celebration. The function was celebrated in compliance with CoVID protocols.
