58th ITEC Day 2022 celebrations
- The 58th ITEC Day was celebrated by AHCI, Kandy on 27th September 2022. AHC Dr. Athira S. hosted the event and welcomed the ITEC Alumni who pursued courses in various reputed institutes in India. Hon’ble State Minister of Education, Mr. Aravindh Kumar, was the Chief Guest for the event, and Hon’ble State Minister of Sports & Youth Affairs, Mr. Rohana Dissanayaka, Vice-Chancellor of University of Peradeniya Prof. M. D. Lamawansa & His Worship Mayor of Kandy Mr. Kesara D. Senanayake were the Guests of Honour.
- Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Aravindh Kumar applauded India’s assistance towards Development Cooperation. He elaborated on the humanitarian assistance from Govt. of India and thanked India for remaining a trustworthy friend of Sri Lanka during the recent crisis.
- Vice-Chancellor of University of Peradeniya Prof. M.D. Lamawansa highlighted the positives of Indian education system and expressed his gratitude for India’s medical assistance to Teaching Hospital, Peradeniya. His Worship Mayor of Kandy Mr. Kesara D. Senanayake thanked Govt. of India for the ITEC initiative and urged Sri Lankan citizens to maximize the benefits of ITEC.
- ITEC Alumni Mr. Aruna Chandika Gunasiri, Asst. Director of Education, Chilaw, Mr. Dhanraj Gajendrakumar, Municipal Commissioner, Bandarawela Municipal Council, Mrs. Chamila Shiyamalee Rajapaksha, Manager & Mr. Barat Arulsamy, Prajashakthi Development Projects fondly shared their experiences about the courses and time spent in India. Over 100 people participated in the event held at Mahaweli Reach Hotel, Kandy.
