60th ITEC Day celebration by AHCI Kandy

  The 60th ITEC Day was celebrated by the Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy on 27th November 2024 at Mahaweli Reach Hotel, Kandy.

2. Hon’ble Governor of Central Province, H.E. Prof. Sarath Abeykoon, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Hon’ble Governor of North Western Province, H.E. Mr. Tissa Warnasuriya, Guest of Honour, Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya, Prof. W.M.T. Madhujith, DIG of Kandy District, Mr. Mahinda Dissanayake, Former Governor & Chief Minister, Mr. Sarath Ekanayake, Rector, Sri Lanka International Buddhist Academy (SIBA) Campus, Mr. Upali M. Sedare, District Secretary of Nuwara Eliya, Mr. Nandana Galaboda, Secretary, Ministry of Education, Sabaragamuwa Province, Mrs. Sujeewa Bodhimanna, Municipal Commissioner, Kandy, Mrs. Indika kumari abeysinghe, distinguished dignitaries and many other ITEC alumni also graced the event.

3. Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Governor of Central Province H.E. Prof. Sarath Abeykoon and Guest of Honour, Vice Chancellor of University of Peradeniya, Prof. W.M.T. Madhujith appreciated the ITEC Programme and emphasized the ITEC alumni to utilize their knowledge for the development of Sri Lanka.

4. ITEC Alumni Dr. P.H. Iranga Madushan De Silva, Registrar in Community Medicine, Ministry of Health, Mr. K.M. Diluka Sri Krishantha Kumara, Senior Sociologist, National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Kandy, and Mrs. Sandmali Hewage, Provincial Director of Tourism and other ITEC alumni shared their experiences of studying in prestigious institutions in India under ITEC programmes, while appreciating the experience and how the exposure has helped them in their professional roles and duties.

5. ICCR Scholar and Kathak dance teacher, Ms. Achini Perera & team, ITEC Alumni Ms. Himali Lokugamage, Advisor, Zonal Education office, Kandy, Mr. Asela Wickramarachchi, Development Officer, Municipal Council, Kandy and Mr. Divahar Selvaratnam, Sr. Clerk, AHCI Kandy & ITEC Alumni presented various cultural performances which mesmerized the guests on the occasion.
