Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme (A1209) (formerly ICCR Scholarship Scheme) for pursuing studies in Indian Culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, Indian cuisine for the academic year 2025-26

The Assistant High Commission of India, Kandy invites online applications from 20 February 2025 through A2A portal at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in to award Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarships from interested Sri-Lankan students for pursuing study in Indian Culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian languages, and Indian cuisine for the academic year 2025-26. The scholarships are administrated by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.

  1. The applicant should be between 18-40 years age (18 years as on date 01.07.2025) for availing Undergraduate / Postgraduate courses and maximum 50 years age for avail PhD Programmes. Detailed guidelines on the process to apply, the procedure and norms governing the same is given on the A2A portal at http://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in
  1. Applicants have the option to apply to 5 universities/ Institutes in the order of their preference of study. A student will have to write an essay comprising 500 words in English language. This is a mandatory English proficiency requirement. Besides, students can also submit their TOFEL/ IELTS scores.
  1. Applicants may have to submit additional documents/evidence of knowledge in the specialized field of dance, music, theatre and art etc, for this scholarship. Applicant must go through the website of each University/ Institute, in which he/she is applying for a course, carefully for such additional requirements.
  1. Compulsory personal Medical Insurance is a mandatory requirement for availing of this scholarship. It is compulsory for students to procure Medical Insurance Policy with minimum sum assured for INR five lakhs per annum. It is mandatory that students when they travel to India, they must have Medical Insurance coverage on their own.
  1. The last date of application to be submitted by students is 30 April 2025.
