CEWET Scholarship
CEWET Scholarship
The Ceylon Estate Workers Education Trust (CEWET) goes back to 1946. In order to encourage promising but impoverished students from the Estate sector by providing financial assistance to enable them to pursue their studies, the idea of instituting a fund was conceived at the instance of Shri M.S. Aney, the then Representative of Government of India in Ceylon. The main objectives of CEWET are to grant financial and other aid to enable the children of Estate workers resident in estates in Sri Lanka to pursue their studies satisfactorily; to promote the education and welfare of such children, etc.
